Some major Grand Forks road work approved

Grand Forks is going ahead with repairs to at least some local roads.

Two main routes have been labelled an embarrasment and safety hazard by the Mayor.

Brian Taylor says they’ll grind and recycle-pave a portion of 68th Avenue from 19th to Kettle River Drive.

He says this is important enough to find the $400,000 budget from somewhere.

Taylor says the work could be done in September.

22nd Street is also falling apart but the foundation is shot and the pipes underground are so fragile the City decided that needs a bigger fix in future.
