The expansion at the Lower Kootenay Band’s school near Creston has been completed.
Yaqan Nukiy School students will see four new classrooms when they return to school next week.
Staff, band council and parents will also be on hand for a ribbon cutting.
Director of education Karen Smith says increased enrolment of children from throughout the Creston Valley made this possible.
The Band paid for the $1.2 million expansion project through a business loan.
