Mayor calls councillors budget concerns “too late”

Creston’s Mayor says it’s all about the timing.

Ron Toyoya is responding to Councillor Kevin Boehmer’s recent concerns they are over-spending reserve funds to pay for capital projects.

Boehmer  was pushing to cut $400, 000 from the 2016 budget at a March 8th meeting.

Toyota says the request was too close to the deadline.

Council voted down Boehmer’s suggested changes to the proposed $1.4-million in capital projects.

The budget is expected to be approved next week.
