Avalanche warning issued for Kootenay Boundary

Avalanche Canada has issued a special warning for the Kootenay Boundary backcountry this weekend.

Forecaster James Floyer says up to a meter of new snow has been deposited over a weak layer.

But a break in the weather tomorrow will probably entice people into the mountains.

Floyer says they’re concerned the weak layer will be easily triggered resulting in very large avalanches.
