Clara's Big Ride rolls into Grand Forks

One of Canada’s most successful Olympians makes her first stop in our region today as part of her national mental awareness bike tour.

Clara Hughes – a six time speed skating and cycling medalist  who has struggled with depression –  is doing a 110 day cross-country bike tour to help create a stigma-free Canada.

She’ll be in Grand Forks at 3:30 Friday afternoon for an event at Gyro Park.

Resident Deb Cozza will give a speech sharing her battles against depression, anorexia and post traumatic stress disorder.

Hughes is in Nelson Saturday for appearances at the top of Hall St at 4:30 and a Gala at the Prestige Lakeside at 7PM.

She will also speak to students at L.V Rogers on Monday morning.
