Town trying different budget process

The Town of Creston’s 2016 budget talks are under way.

Staff are conducting presentations to council overviewing the breakdown of proposed projects and costs for each department.

Town Manager, Lou Varela says this is a new approach.

Varela says council’s commitment to increase the quality of communication with the public prompted this new process.

The final cuts and approvals to the budget are expected to happen later this month and a financial review will follow in March.
