Local non-profit TEETH clinic wins big prize

A local non-profit has won $50,000 in an online competition run by Pacific Blue Cross.

West Kootenay Community TEETH Clinic came out tops from a short list of five across BC.

The public voted after watching a short video on each.

The clinic offers residents without dental insurance and an annual income of less than $30,000 discounted treatment rates.

The Pacific Blue Cross Foundation is a key donor.

Company President and CEO Jan Grude says often non-profits in the lower mainland tend to get much of the attention.

The $50,000 prize will be used to expand service across the West Kootenay.
