Montrose to replace or repair reservoir water tanks

Big upgrades are due for the two water tanks at the reservoir in Montrose.

They are starting to show their age with corrosion and rust.

Mayor Joe Danchuck says the issue is being looked into to determine if the tanks need to be replaced or repaired.

He says the water system is fine but the two tanks are ageing.

One is 57 years old and nearing the end of it’s 60 year life-cycle.

Danchuck says this is estimated to cost around $285,000 and hopes to secure federal grant-funding to help with the project.
