Castlegar cultural groups get funding extension

Castlegar’s three cultural groups are getting a slight funding increase from the City but certain requirements are attached in the new agreement.

The Kootenay Gallery of Art, History and Science and the Heritage and Doukobor Historical Societies all received a three year deal.

It will up the annual allocation to nearly $42,000 and each group will receive $7,000 this year for capital improvements.

Councillor Florio Vassilakakis says they’ve made some changes to create some consistency.
