Selkirk arts school offers more options

Selkirk College aims to attract new opportunities for students as well as working artists with program additions at their Kootenay School of the Arts (KSA).

Chair of the school Jason Taylor says a new 2-year diploma pathway and creation of an Open Studio Advanced Certificate gives artists more options at their popular downtown Nelson campus.

The 4-to-10 month programs in blacksmithing, metal casting, ceramics, jewelry and textiles remain.

But from September students can embark on a second-year diploma stream.
