The City of Nelson is sprucing up the community with its five year tree management strategy.
The plan focuses on downtown and the lower Uphill Areas.
Public Works and Parks Supervisor Karen MacDonald says so far this year they have taken down a few trees.
MacDonald adds they’ve replaced two linden trees on Baker Street with three others.
She explains they try to plant two trees for every one they remove.
Four trees were also planted by the welcome to Baker street sign and efforts are being made to improve the entrance to Railtown.
