Water board shelved by RDCK

Talk of a water supply board for the Regional District of Central Kootenay is on hold until January.

It would be a new authority to govern and manage the RDCK’s 19 small water systems.

But Director Hans Cunningham says centralization has already seen Ymir’s bills more than quadruple.

Cunningham says the delay will give them more time to consider the implications.

It will also prevent the water board from becoming an election issue.
