An RDCK Director is hoping to combat rural speeding by enlisting the help of sheriffs.
Larry Binks says even after reducing the speed zones in West Creston from 80 km down to 60 km, some people still drive 100 km per hour.
He says sheriffs could enforce speed limits when they’re in the area.
Binks says a rural RCMP unit would be the most effective way to police rural speeding but that’s not financially viable.
He plans to approach the BC Justice Ministry to inquire about the sheriffs helping.
