Cannings scores comfortable win in SOWK

The MP-elect for South Okanagan West Kootenay says the national result didn’t work out the way they wanted.

But the NDP’s Richard Cannings says the people of Canada made a call for resounding change and most ended up joining the Liberal wave.

Cannings admits it’ll be a different dynamic compared to if he was in a government NDP caucus.

But he’s looking forward to being a representative of the people of his riding.

He beat Conservative Marshall Neufeld by 4,929 votes. Liberal Connie Denesiuk was third after coming within 1,167 votes of Neufeld.
