Lockdown in Wynndel after shots fired

A frightening evening for Wynndel residents ended peacefully early this morning.

RCMP say an arrest was made at 1:55 am following an apparent gun fire incident.

Neighbour Dave Basaraba says it all started in the early afternoon.

Apparently Fortis crews were in the area clearing some trees.

Basaraba says he called the RCMP and once units arrived, he was asked to leave his property.

RCMP shut down highway 3-A at the 5000 block in Wynndel last night around 6:00 pm and it remained closed until 4:00 am.

We are awaiting an update from the RCMP.
