Search for missing youth continues Monday

The search continued Monday for the bodies of three youth presumed drowned in that canoeing tragedy on Slocan Lake Saturday.

RCMP Sgt Darryl Little says a helicopter was used again today at New Denver.

Little says the water is very cold -confirmed at just 34F – 1C – and in parts it’s 450-feet deep …and there is a limit to how long each of the 8 divers can operate.

He says they will take stock and re-evaluate this afternoon.

The missing youth are 15 year old Jule Wiltshire-Padfield, 18 year old Skye Donnet and 21 year old Hayden Kyle.

They were in a canoe with 19 year old Lily Harmer-Taylor when it capsized.

She died Saturday night after being found unconscious in the over-turned boat.
