US judge orders Teck to pay aboriginal group

Teck Resources is disappointed in a ruling from a US judge orering the company to pay over $8.2 million to an aboriginal group.

This to cover the Colville Confederated Tribes’ cost to investigate the status of the Columbia River and their legal fees.

Senior Communications Specialist Chris Stannell says the August 12 ruling’s implications are being reviewed.

A July 27 ruling from the US Court Of Appeals found Teck cannot be held liable for historic air pollution in Washington.
