If you were one of those passengers who waited days to get in or out of the airport at Castlegar last month you were certainly not alone.
The city has released the stats for January and the weather made a big dent.
61% of all flights in January were cancelled.
Only 49 of the 105 scheduled arrivals and take-offs actually happened.
This follows a December which had a 60% success rate.
Over the past two months 108 of the 215 scheduled flights did not happen. That’s a success rate of 50%.
The continued lack of reliability at the Castlegar’s airport is seen as a major hindrance to economic development in our region.
NavCanada experts recently said current technology is not yet ready to improve the reliability issue at the airport. However city officials insist they are not giving up.
