Eco society optimistic on new market shelters

The West Kootenay Eco Society is optimistic the city will help fund the new market shelters at Cottonwood Park.

The old city owned structures were torn down this week but the society, which runs the market, is committed to having the new building up by the spring.

Markets manager Jesse Woodward says they and the city are in a partnership to make this happen.

The society will also raise funds for the $150,000 price tag, but Woodward says the Saturday market is a big thing for the city and tourism.
