Smoke affects August weather

Not surprisingly the smoke played a role in our weather picture last month.

Our South East Fire Centre weather office reports those 7 days of thick smoke limited the daytime highs.

The maximum of 37.6 C happened on the 13th. Overall though the mean august temperature was 0.4 C warmer than normal.

It was another dry month with just 61% of normal rainfall and 80% of that fell on the final two days of August.
